Ratna Sambhava translates from Sanskrit as ‘Jewel-born’. His insight is the equality of all things, and is the antidote to pride. This Buddha faces south in the stupa, and rides on the horse throne of Ratnavi, the pure abode of heaven. When Ratna Sambhava attained enlightenment, the Bodhisattvas came to pay him respects, each carrying a jeweled scepter emitting light. His yellow color is attributed to the radiance of these jewels.
