Description
Thangkas – are traditional Tibetan paintings with a history that may be traced back to the 7th century. Derived from the word thang, meaning ‘unfolding’ in Tibetan, thangkas were originally designed to be portable mediums of spiritual communication and guides for visualization of deities. Meditating with the aid of these paintings is believed to allow the practitioner to progress spiritually.
Mandala means ‘circle’ in Sanskrit. Mandalas offer balancing visual elements, symbolising unity and harmony. The goal is to serve as a tool on our spiritual journey.
